Bundle with Complementary Products

You can do the same with your Gumroad products. Partner with other creators to offer bundle deals. For example, if you sell a financial planning workbook, find someone who sells an online budgeting tool or a productivity planner and team up. Or, you could create a complementary product yourself and sell it as a bundle.

Partnering up is usually the best way to go because it’s less work for you and you both get to tap into each other’s audiences.

Offer Your Customers more incentive

Let’s be real: e-commerce is competitive. If you want to make more money from your store, you’ll have to offer your audience more than your competition does. Here are some ideas that may help:

  • Freebies: Who doesn’t like free stuff? To build trust and reel your audience in, prepare helpful and relevant resources such as e-books, checklists, worksheets, or email courses, and offer them for free in exchange for their email. You can add links to your paid products within the free resources to encourage sales.

  • Discounts: Generating affiliate discount codes and coupons is a great way to attract customers without giving away free resources.

For example, there’s a Gumroad seller with a Notion AI Content Generator product who uses purchasing power parity. This means you get a discount based on your country. So, while the product is priced at $39, I only pay $19.50 because I’m from Kenya. How thoughtful is that?

  • Guarantees: Offering a guarantee can feel risky, but it shows confidence in your products and boosts your credibility. Promise a replacement or a full refund if your customers aren’t satisfied. This removes the risk for them and makes them more willing to buy your product.

Get Affiliates for your products

Recruiting affiliates can significantly expand your audience and boost your sales. One of the easiest ways to do this is by listing your product on Gumroad Discover. When your product is on Gumroad Discover, it automatically becomes available for affiliates to promote, without you having to set up anything manually. This way, your product reaches a broader audience with minimal effort on your part.

Create an engaging quiz or assessment
